Why Vogue?

At Vogue, we stand out for our quality, design, materials, innovation and unlimited backstage access – where you can see your kitchen come to life on the factory floor. All our kitchens and cabinetry are built by our talented team in our New Plymouth factory. Clients are welcome to go through the factory before a project begins. Also, you can call in and view progress on your project at any time.

Our Team

At Vogue Kitchens, quality and experience go hand-in-hand. When Certified Kitchen Designer Peter Baylis – Vogue’s owner, designer and joiner of more than 40 years – passed the ownership over to husband and wife team Carl and Janelle Lewis in 2014, he stayed on to work alongside the new owners. It’s the perfect collaboration, bringing together experience and a fresh perspective for your benefit.

With a background in design and construction – Janelle and Carl found their niche at Vogue. In fact, it was like coming home for Carl, who spent eight years with the business from 1994 to 2002. He is a qualified joiner with auto-cad training, as well as luxury boat building experience. Janelle is a passionate and experienced designer, with a diploma in graphic design and auto-cad training.

Vogue’s team of 11 includes qualified joiners with decades of cabinetry experience using high quality materials. This means you can be assured of quality workmanship and products at Vogue.

Anyone can call themselves a kitchen designer, but at Vogue we have the qualifications to back up the title. Vogue boasts one of only two Certified Kitchen Designers (CKDNZ) in New Plymouth. Peter Baylis is a Certified Kitchen Designer and Vogue’s owners, Carl and Janelle Lewis, are working towards the internationally recognised qualification.

Certified Kitchen Designers are professionals who are qualified by education and experience to research, design and plan, as well as supervise the installation of kitchens. “Their expertise lie in researching the personal needs of the client and designing the most functional and aesthetically pleasing arrangement of space,” says the Certified Designers Society.

At Vogue we use the highest quality materials, that not only look stylish, but are made to last.

Whether you prefer a contemporary or traditional style, we can help you choose the best products to fit what you require. Surfaces, drawers, doors and hardware, runners, hinges and handles, we’ll ensure your kitchen has the right materials for your needs.

Products we use include granite, Hi-Macs, Corian, Dekton, Blum, Lapitec and laminates, as well as engineered stones such as Silestone and Caeserstone. We are also the only kitchen designers/manufacturers in Taranaki to use solid timber for rails and bases.

Kitchen designs are forever evolving. As well as keeping up with international trends in designs and products, we have the engineering experience to make your kitchen truly inspirational.

Got an idea? Something out of the ordinary? We can use our engineering/design skills to make your kitchen not only suit your individual needs, but make it stand out from the crowd.

One of our innovations is an electronically-adjustable table which can be raised to become an extension of your kitchen workbench, or lowered to become a dining table. Solid and sturdily built, it can support a heavy surface such as granite. And, for safety, the mechanism rises and lowers slowly.

Don’t like seeing electricity hot points on your kitchen or bathroom benchtops? In another innovation, we have the ability to camouflage the hot point into the benchtop.

At Vogue, we believe in being open and transparent. We know your kitchen is one of the most important investments in your home. For this reason, we encourage our clients to be part of the process – from start to finish, including having unlimited access to our factory floor to see first-hand your kitchen become a reality.

It’s a service few other kitchen manufacturers offer, but one our customers value highly. See your kitchen cabinetry custom cut through our precision computerised machinery. Watch as our qualified joiners assemble your kitchen on the factory floor before it’s transported to your home, so you can check it’s just right. You can call in and check progress on your project at any time.

We pride ourselves in creating inspired and functional designs specific to your needs, using superior products and quality workmanship. An array of awards ‒ from Best Regional Kitchen and Best Use of Colour 2016 (NZ Master Joiners Awards) to Best Classic/Traditional Kitchen NZ 2014 (National Kitchen and Bathroom Association (NKBA) awards) ‒ confirm our experience and quality set us apart.

We are members of the NKBA which “strives to recognise and promote excellence and set industry standards so that consumers can have greater assurance when choosing an NKBA designer, manufacturer, retailer or product supplier”.

Vogue is also a registered Master Joiner, a group which represents some of New Zealand’s best joinery manufacturers who pride themselves in delivering high quality products and services.
